Dan comes from the enchanted land of northwest Ohio, where he spent the first twenty-one years of his life. He left to study theology at a Benedictine monastery in southern Indiana. From there he held several ministry positions for Catholic parishes and dioceses across the United States. He moved to Washington, D.C. and then Berkeley, CA in order to further his theological education.

Dan first came into contact with FileMaker in 1992 when he needed a database to keep track of information for his youth ministry work in Durango, CO. He was hooked and introduced FileMaker to every ministry post he held. In 2007 he discontinued PhD studies in Theology and decided to make FileMaker more than a hobby.

When Dan is not honing his database skills, he enjoys the Bay area with his wife, Sarah and their dog, Woody. He has been known, on occasion, to turn down the lights, kick off his sandals, pick up his guitar, close his eyes, and pretend that he is Michael Hedges!
