Carole has a unique and diverse background. She grew up near Boston, and received a Bachelors degree in chemistry from Simmons College, working for several years in cancer research at Harvard, biotech at Dupont, and forensic chemistry at the crime lab for the Massachusetts State Police.

Then she decided to embark on an amazing journey around the world that lasted for nearly three years. She trekked to over 18,000 feet in the Himalayas. She rode a camel in the Indian desert and bicycled in the Australian outback. She lived in Tokyo for over a year, working as a legal assistant at a Japanese law firm.

After returning to the United States, she directed and produced a documentary film, and received her Masters degree from the University of California at Berkeleys Graduate School of Journalism. Then she spent six years at Industrial Light and Magic, one of George Lucas companies, putting her artistic vision and computer skills to good use as a visual effects artist on a variety of national commercials, and such feature films as Star Wars and Planet of the Apes.

When she bought her first home in the Bay Area, Caroles newly discovered passion for interior design led her to create her own real estate staging company, Purple Door Designs, in 2004. In order to keep track of an ever-expanding collection of furniture and home accessories, she created a Filemaker database. She was hooked. She was amazed by its power and ease of use and realized the geek within her had resurfaced. She closed her company and joined Beezwax in 2007 in order to pursue her love of FileMaker full-time.
