Ian first started hacking software on his parents' NCR PC4 in the late 1980s. Much later, he graduated summa cum laude from Marlboro College in Marlboro, Vermont with a degree in Dance and Computer Science. Ian proceeded to work here and there as a freelance writer, Linux systems administrator, software developer, and project manager. Eventually he arrived at Beezwax with about 10 years of experience architecting and implementing software for everything from corner coffee shops to Fortune 500 corporations.
Ian continually works to combine his artistic sensibility with his technical expertise by developing software that is intuitive to use, pragmatically minimalist in its scope, and of the highest quality. He founded Idiosyncra.tc, an information arts firm providing computer technology solutions to artists, and he often also works as a dancer and choreographer.
Ian works with a variety of languages including Ruby, Lisp, C, Perl, Java, SQL, PHP, CSS, Javascript, Bash, XML, and PIC Assembler.
