He built his first FileMaker solution for a private art collector in 2004. Through word-of-mouth alone, he amassed clients in an impressive roster of industries: education, fashion design, manufacturing, medical research, music, publishing, real estate, transportation and more. He’s been creating software in FileMaker—and helping businesses succeed—for over a dozen years.
While Doug obviously enjoys coding, his greatest asset comes as a listener, working with clients to help understand, anticipate and refine their needs. “Designing is Zen”, he says. “It’s relaxing. But it’s not nearly as satisfying as a client’s delight when you deliver something beyond expectation… My talents come from my warmth. I like learning from people in disparate fields, and using what I’ve learned to build intuitive, simple, rewarding solutions.”
When he’s not designing software, Doug enjoys cooking, cycling, hiking, meditating and volunteering. Suicide prevention, women’s empowerment, and criminal justice reform are issues near to his heart.
