See Problems, Warnings and Suggestions

Inspector Pro 3's detection logic identifies problems and warnings, and now provides suggestions for improving your solution. Everything's easy to see—Red flags beside problems, yellow triangles for warnings, and blue stars for suggestions. Detection runs are fully customizable: Run detection automatically on import of your solution's DDR (Database Design Report), or again after an analysis is complete. Choose which component types get checked (everything from Accounts to Value Lists) and mark items as fixed.

Tip: Search for problems, warnings, or suggestions, and Inspector will immediately locate these items for you!

At-a-Glance Comparisons

Inspector Pro 3 compares FileMaker elements more accurately and more quickly than version 2. Using the new Scribe plug-in from 360works, Inspector gives you clear, color-coded, and accurate comparison reporting. When you process a DDR, you can choose to automatically compare it with the previous version, or later choose any older analysis to compare.

You can even choose exactly what gets compared, just like problem detection, and you can choose to show differences the way you prefer to see them: side-by-side or inline.

Centralized References and Dependencies

All interconnected items are shown in consolidated views in Inspector Pro 3. If an element has dependencies, they show up under the Dependencies tab. If an element has references, they show up under the References tab. Find out exactly where that troublesome variable is being modified, or how many places a field is still referenced.

Inspector's user interface clearly indicates when an element (such as a layout or script) exists, but is not being currently referenced in the solution, and is safe to delete from your solution.

FileMaker Go Compatibility Checks

Inspector Pro 3 has FileMaker Go compatibility feedback built right in. It identifies every function that's not compatible with the platform—even if you only use it once—and provides warnings (note the blue color) reminding the developer that this function can't be used with FileMaker Go.

Best of all, we haven't forgotten our plug-in friends! FileMaker plug-ins/extensions will not run under FileMaker Go, so Inspector will warn you about any uses of third party functions in your solution.

Additional Information

Inspector Pro 3 is built with the latest version of our FOCUS framework, and takes full advantage of Quick Find – one of the key features in FM 11. In addition to using it's powerful built-in filtering, you can also perform native FileMaker search requests.

Inspector uses Scribe to provide filtering highlights, so you can see why each result is showing up. The Scribe plug-in is also used to enable comparison reporting. Inspector also uses Simple Dialog 4.0.
