Sterling Rouse

Sr. FileMaker Developer

Sterling Rouse is a Senior Developer who has spent the better part of two decades building software that holds up. His expertise runs deep in FileMaker development, shaped by years of hands-on project work across a wide range of client systems, and extends into product design and Java development as well. Throughout his career, Sterling's focus has remained consistent: collaboration, critical thinking, and technical solutions designed to last.

Sterling earned a BS in Journalism from the University of Kentucky and a master's in Sport Administration from the University of Louisville. His journalism degree instilled a discipline for asking the right questions and communicating with clarity—getting straight to the point rather than burying the lede. That directness carries through into how he approaches software design and infrastructure, focusing on fostering continuous improvement and genuine teamwork.

A resident of Atlanta, Sterling is an avid traveler with a growing passport full of European stamps and ambitions to expand beyond the continent. He's equally passionate about exploring walkable cities and has enjoyed the freedom of not owning a car in recent years. A proud Louisville Cardinals fan (much to the good-natured ribbing of Kentucky Wildcat friends), Sterling's greatest sports moment was watching the Cards win the Final Four live in Atlanta in 2013—a surreal, out-of-body experience. His respect for Atlanta sports runs deep, evidenced by his consistent attendance at Atlanta United matches, including their historic MLS Cup victory.
