Raised in the suburb of Plano, TX, Long grew up with an affinity for math and science along with comedy and athletics. Long would eventually go on to earn a BS in Business with a Computer Science Minor and a MBA from The University of Texas at Dallas – one of US News’s top MBA programs . Along the way, he would study under Dallas thespian Fred Curchack in classic Shakespearean theatre and trained with Muhammed Lawal (Strikeforce, Bellator, and Rizen MMA fighter “King Mo”) in collegiate wrestling.
Long has spent six years employed in the market research industry as a project manager spanning hundreds of projects for B2C, B2B, Political, and Consulting agencies. Moving from that career, Long began studying Agile and Scrum methodologies earning certifications in both. More recently, he spent one year with Wells Fargo aiding the transition from waterfall to shift-left and speed-to-market projects and transitioning efforts from SOW work to more efficient independent contractors.
Long spends much of his spare time with his wife playing board games, Dungeons and Dragons, and solving logic puzzles, and he is also one of the co-hosts for a food and cooking podcast (iTunes: 2 Cooks Talking). In addition to his daytime professional life, Long is also an amateur magician and professional wrestler. A nerd, polymath, performer, and athlete, Long strives to be a modern Renaissance man – except he’s tone deaf when it comes to music.
